The importance of art for me

My art is a big part of my life, we are bound together. Through art I express my feelings – I think in pictures and afterwards try to put them on canvas or paper. It is most often nature that influences me and is reflected in my images both figuratively and abstractly. I can see a work of art in weeds as well as in every little plant and thing. My art is harmonious, pleasant, relaxing, encouraging. My art must give joy, energy and the desire to create something yourself! Art is my passion, a realization of myself - my lucky pill!

My story and experience

I was born in Poland, in the city of Lodz in 1949. I grew up in an artistic family. My father was an artist and I painted and drew art since I was a child. It was predestined that I, as the eldest child in the family, should follow in my father's footsteps. I was educated at the Academy of Arts in Lodz, Poland.

As an adult, I have worked as an artist and decorator at an advertising agency, etc. A few years before I came to Denmark, I had my own company, where I produced handcrafts such as jewelry and fabric painting.

I came to Denmark in 1986. Here I have used my education as an artist in my work, as I the following years worked as a teacher and caregiver. But I have always maintained my great interest in art and the children love it.

In 1991 I became seriously interested in painting. I started with watercolor and over time I became happy to paint in acrylic, which I use mostly now. I had my first exhibition in 2002 at the Ballerup library. After that, a number of other exhibitions started in libraries, galleries, cultural centers, etc. My exhibitions have, among other places, been taking place in the Dragør Harbor Gallery, the Kennedy Center in Glostrup and in the Farum cultural center.
